To Xtra, u tell me :P, whenever STC on the thing happens, whenever its off it doesn't
(and there's no fps drop).

To nakee, booting with LLE sound hangs the emu for me.

Maybe STC is writing garbage into the audio RAM?

I'll make it more precise.

When u load a game, as u begin to see Samus, and there's an animation with some
blueish beams, there's three scenarios:

1 - STC disabled, music plays through and sound is fine after the animation.
2 - STC enabled, music disappears, sound works intermitently.
3 - STC enabled, music plays, but when u fire ur gun it stops then returns. As if
only one piece of audio could be played simultaneously.

I'm unable to reproduce this with STC disabled, that's why i suspect that's the only
cause.
