Emulator Issues #10786
closedAndroid: Gecko OS crashes
0%
Description
Game Name?
Gecko OS
What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.
Gecko OS crashes. Can someone tell me if I'm doing something wrong? The attached log at least told me I was able to initialize my SDHC card! Out of all the Android issues I've submitted, this one interests me most. Problem is independent of SD card insertion.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Launch Gecko OS
Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.
5.0-6177

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)
Viewing the attached log in Notepad is ugly, as reported in #10785. Click on the log and view the link through Redmine. It looks better.
Also watch out for #10784.

Does it work on PC? If yes, does it work on Android if you use the (cached) interpreter?

Works on Windows. Also loads on Android with Interpreter and Cached interpreter! Now I've run into #10663 so I know what my next feature request will be!

Also, is there a way to create a user config for Gecko OS so it uses cached interpreter?

The file 00000000.ini should get applied to all DOLs and ELFs and also the GameCube IPL (if you're choosing to boot into the IPL itself rather than booting to a game when the Skip IPL setting is disabled). It isn't possible to be more specific than that.

Oops, meant loads on Android with Interpreter and Cached interpreter after a stream of panic messages.
And 00000000.ini should work for me!

Well... that was a journey but after installing IOS 36, disabling panic handlers, and switching to cached interpreter, Brawl mods now run at a crisp ~11 FPS through Gecko OS with SDHC!
I look forward to trying this with JIT instead of the cached interpreter!

I'm not sure which PR fixed this problem but it no longer exists in 5.0-6309!
