Description

Game Name?

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem

Game ID?

GEDE01

MD5 Hash?

118e4cbf529719528f15d065130511e2 (confirmed with redump)

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

Whenever you pause the game with deterministic dual core set to fake-completion, for a few frames the aspect ratio will distort and the picture will widen for a second before returning to normal again on the pause screen. In master, this does not occur in single core, however in 5.0 it seems to occur in single core as well.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Start a new game and pause. See the picture widen for a moment, then return back to normal afterwards.

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

Yes, 5.0-6197

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

Yes, 5.0

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

Fifolog always came out 6MB so I'm unable to attach.

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

Intel Core i3-3220 @ 3.3Ghz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB, Windows 10

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95I3yxWiIvs here is a video of the game being played on the Wii, where you can see proper pauses without distortion (0:30:08 for an example)

Sometimes games shift aspect ratios when doing various things. If you want to force it to 4:3, use the crop option + force 4:3. That'll treat it like a Television is.

That doesn't explain why single core would have different behavior, though.

This still happens in 5.0-9795 (tested with Force 16:9 and 16:9 in game's settings). Same behavior in Dual Core fixed in Single Core, slight aspect ratio stretching. If you set crop, it just shrinks inwards from the top and bottom instead of stretching outwards to the left and right.
