Description

Game Name?

Super Smash Bros

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab)

NALE01

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, properties, info tab, MD5 Hash: Compute)

2d1cd1122923b68acd854845c1fd7dad

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

When playing the game on Vulkan, the game will crash after a few seconds during the intro, or when selecting character, and I'm presented with errors. "Failed to submit command buffer" and "Dest rect is too large for CopyRectangleFromTexture"

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Let the intro play

OR

Select any mode, and move the cursor around the character selection screen for a bit

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

Yes, 5.0-8318

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

Not applicable since it doesn't have Vulkan (I think)

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

My bisect result is 5.0-5366

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

I don't think this counts as a graphical issue?

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

i7 6700k 4.2 GHz
GTX 1070
16 GB DDR4 RAM
Windows 10

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)

Nope

Try using 1x internal resolution. This game likes to rack up the graphics memory a lot. If you run out, the game will crash.

Okay, it doesn't happen when using 1x internal resolution. But the thing is, this problem doesn't occur in builds previous to 5.0-5366, even when using a high IR

This game is known to eat up memory, we probably have a memory leak somewhere again...

Using 5.0-8372 and same problem here. I'm getting stuttering even though I tried all backends and shader compilation settings. Only fix is 1x resolution. It's freaking ironic how I got a beast PC with a i7 8700K @ 5GHz, GTX 1080 Ti, 16GB DDR4 @ 4200MHz, yet getting performance issues on Dolphin! Like they always say if it ain't broken don't fix it! On a previous version of Dolphin I didn't have this problem, it was probably a build before the new shaders were implemented. I tries my best to fix my own issues, but when it falls down on the developers fault, it's out of my hands. Dolphin's ease of use has really gone down hill with all these new settings in the GPU backends.

You are extremely ignorant and ungrateful.

Lol, okay person who created this thread in the first place, you should be concerned as much as i'm.

Oh and by the way, the problem still happens on Dolphin 5.0-5366 so you failed at bisecting the issue.

That is the first broken build, meaning the one before it should not have the issue.

I created this thread to help notify of an issue. You are posting to be an ass about a free software having bugs. Go away

Also, you don't even know what bisecting means, apparently.

Oh really??? Well look at this video I done with that build Mr. Smarty pants https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzQix1XYmvM&feature=youtu.be
As you can see the issue is still present even on that build.

Doesn't matter if I was wrong or not because even with 5.0-5362 there is minor performance issues with Smash Bros. The point is things should just work!

I'm not maintaining a steady 60fps on my beast PC.

I warned you once. Bye.

Ironic thing is that the performance issues should be fixed now.

Either way, your issue is valid and confirmed. Sorry for the rude intruder.

I also got the same bisect for this Vulkan issue. With 8x IR it happens immediately.
