Emulator Issues #11301
closedStore XFB Copies to Texture does not work with Real Progressive Scan
0%
Description
Game Name?
I've reproduced this in any GameCube game that lets me enable progressive scan.
What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.
The screen will flash magenta between every frame in progressive mode. This makes sense as Dolphin's less accurate options don't seem to like progressive scan anyway...
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Enable Progressive Scan in a game, hold B on startup to turn it on with Progressive Scan enabled in the Advanced portion of the Graphics Menu. Make sure "Immediately Present XFB Copies" is disabled and Store XFB Copies to Texture Only is enabled.
Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.
Every version since Hybrid XFB appears to have this quirk.
Is the issue present in the latest stable version?
Nope
If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer
Fifologs don't react well to XFB and this is a CPU side issue anyway, right? It's not actually a graphics problem, it's the memory not matching what's in the texture.
