I can't reproduce the issue by launching TvMainActivity on my phone. Presumably the issue is in the changes that were made to the channel syncing code, which is annoying for me, since that requires an actual Android TV device to test on (which I don't have).

Do you have a way to get a crash log? If so, having one would probably make the issue easy to fix.

Well, that's weird as I have attempted to create a fresh log file to catch any errors there, and then installed 14452 version (as I reverted back to last working one 14447) but after starting the problem occurs however log file (newly created) is entirely empty, so not sure how else I could assist to help.

Ah, I'm not referring to the log file that Dolphin creates, I'm referring to the kind of log you can get with tools like logcat. If you don't have access to those kinds of tools, please let me know, and I'll try to post some builds with the changes partially reverted so that you can test which part of the changes caused the problem.

Since I've got no previous exposure to logcat, I think the latter option will be suitable at this moment.

Here's the first build to test. Just run it and see if it crashes or not: https://dl.dolphin-emu.org/prs/05/93/pr-9841-dolphin-latest.apk

This one installer doesn't want to install. :(

Actions #12

It has a version code that's one lower than the previous build, so you need to explicitly uninstall the old build before you can install the new one.

14481-debug it is. After fresh install works fine.

  • Status changed from New to Fix pending

Thanks for all the help testing. While I'm still not sure exactly why the crash happens, I've been able to narrow it down to a rather small part of the change. I've submitted this pull request to just revert that part of the change for now: https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/9841
