Emulator Issues #12930
closedProblem with pointer & motion control on Steam Deck
0%
Description
What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.
I've set up motion controls on my steam deck and control the cursor with my mouse. When setting the motion controlled pointer to disabled, it works fine, but if i hold the console upright, the pointer is no longer controllable. I'm not exactly sure if this is an actual problem with the emulator or if this is something i could override, but id like to be able to freely use motion controls without sacrificing using the mouse as the pointer.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Mapping the Motion Input accelerometer with DSUClient on steam deck, and mapping the Motion Simulation pointer as cursor Y-, cursor Y+, etc. Disable "Point" in the Motion Input tab.

This is actually a game behavior - if the Wii Remote isn't pointing in a direction that could be toward the television, games stop reading infrared data! It's to prevent mirrors, windows, glass tables, etc. from giving reflected infrared data.
I don't know how we could fix this without modding individual games.

As a note, the same thing happens on Android.
