Description

Game Name?

Wii System Menu 4.3

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Info tab)

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Verify tab, Verify Integrity button)

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

For some unknown reason, when trying to boot the Wii Menu using tools, then Wii System Menu, the emulator just freezes and crashes, what's strange is it was working perfectly fine a day before writing this, and now its just crashing. What's also od is that this happened just after updating to the latest version of dolphin

What steps will reproduce the problem?

For a developer to look into the last few development updates to see if there was anything inside them that may be causing this.
Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

Yes, 5.0-21061

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

No, 5.0
If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

[First broken version number here (if applicable)]

5.0-21044

If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer

[Attach any fifologs if possible, write a description of fifologs and screenshots here to assist people unfamiliar with the game.]

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

[PC specs here]
Windows 10, i5-4570, 16 GB RAM, RTX 2060 GPU

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)

The first broken update seems to have the word "bWii" in it, not sure if that has anything to do with it, but the first update before that, being 21041, the wii menu booted fine, then that update, it just crashed

Confirmed.

 	Dolphin.exe!ControllerEmu::NumericSettingBase::GetUISuffix() Line 26	C++
>	[Inline Frame] Dolphin.exe!CreateSystemMenuTitleDirs() Line 724	C++
 	Dolphin.exe!UpdateStateFlags(std::function<void __cdecl(StateFlags *)> update_function) Line 702	C++
 	Dolphin.exe!CBoot::BootNANDTitle(Core::System & system, unsigned __int64 title_id) Line 24	C++
 	[Inline Frame] Dolphin.exe!CBoot::BootUp::__l2::BootTitle::operator()(const BootParameters::NANDTitle &) Line 619	C++

IOS::HLE::GetIOS()->GetESCore() returned nullptr in CreateSystemMenuTitleDirs. Presumably something isn't getting initialized correctly.

You can still access the Wii menu by launching a disc-based game and then using the HOME menu to return to the Wii menu. (One time this hung for me on a black screen but it worked properly every time I tried afterwards.)

that maybe true, however, it isnt really an idle way, plus it can be a bit on the skippy side for someone who uses the wii menu often (like myself) also, even if that does work, doesnt really fix the bug

Yeah, this is definitely still something that should be fixed, but it's useful information for confirming that it's an issue with booting the Wii menu as opposed to something the Wii menu does while it's running.

i suppose we can just use the game home menu button method for now till it gets fixed, if anything atleast the whole menu isnt broken (i dont think that would happen but yeah)
