Still valid. At least with me.
Using latest rev 6604 and a older one 5643 (with FIFO patch).
All plugins tested(dx9/11/opengl);
tested with differents settings
sound really bad (reffer to issue 3077 too). LLE plugin works a little better.
PC: E5200@3.85/4gb ram/HD 4770 512mb.

This issue have over a year and still no satisfactory answer or when it will start
I think there should be a review of these old issues and give the importance they deserve.

It's pretty darn good in LLE. Try it on new rev.
All the sounds bugs will be invalid when LLE takes over and that will be soon. Most of my games are now full speed with it. We just need one more big performance boost and we're there!!

Maybe the problem is the ISO's region, I have Punch Out on PAL Multi5, like you, according the videos, and some times sounds good, but you have the problem more serious that me. Try out with another region, I'm gonna try too. If it works, I'll let you know.
See ya.
Saludos.)

DSP LLE doesnt fix the issue. No audio selection does.
Since this topic was started in '09 though the issue has changed a bit. Currently LLE gets the best sound with 60 fps framerate throughout the whole game EXCEPT for two parts.
Part 1- MASSIVE drop in framerate on the career opponent select screen. You go from 60 in the rest of the game to ~20 FPS. This occurs when you enter the screen, then disappears until you cycle through opponents. What makes this seem to be a sound issue is that there's a big "WHOOSH"ing noise that plays when you first enter the screen, and a similar "WHOOSH" as you cycle through opponents. So it would seem that the massive framerate drop is due to Dolphin not being able to handle that "WHOOSH" noise correctly.
Part 2- This might not actually be a problem at all, or it may be similar to the first one. It's during Mr Sandmans entrance. It's close to the same type of frame drop as the opponent select screen. Theres sounds here that arent heard anywhere else in the game, his big "BOOM"ing footsteps. It may be that Dolphin isnt handling them properly. Or it may just be that since his entrance shows a large part of the arena it's just an intensive spot. Or a combination of both.
But yeah, contrary to the OP from two years ago those are the only remaining issues with sound in PunchOut!! Sound and speed overall have improved significantly except for the two spots I've mentioned.
Maybe they're some type of surround sound type of sounds not being output properly, don't know. They would both fit that description.

Are there still issues with punch out if you disable the patch which is in the ini file for this game? I forget exactly what that patch does :)

I have no sound issues - LLE plus Sandy.
Thanks for the db scrub Godisgovernment!

- Status changed from New to Fixed
wespipes96: cool
ebenezer: unfortunately dsp lle can't be held accountable for bad noises produced when dolphin isn't running full speed :/ we need a time-stretcher or make it faster.

I don't think this issue is resolved. Or at least it got broken again with a new revision. If I use LLE I get horrible stuttering during fights, and if I use HLE I get weird slow motion zombie sounds. Tried every permutation of sound settings.

I'm running on a core i7 2600k clocked at 4.2Ghz and have the same problem.

its not my CPU ass. i have a Phenom FX quad at 3.8ghz
Updated by parlane almost 13 years ago
Yea, that's so last year. Get some sandy bridges.

I've got a Phenom II 965, running rev 3.0-415. I don't think it's my cpu because people with more powerful ones have the same problem. The game isn't slowing down, the sound just stutters.

Chill out saml, what crawled up your sensitive butt? Not wise to attack devs.
I have a i5 2500k (clock at 4.3) and just tried playing it again. Speed is flawless with LLE active. It IS your cpus, not Dolphin.
Updated by samljer almost 13 years ago
not wise to attack devs? first off i wasnt. and even if i was there if fuk all they can do about it. ban me? go ahead i got 3 google accounts linked to different regions, fuck them too imo.
Updated by Tacobot almost 13 years ago
Is it my cpu? Or is it because dolphin sucks at LLE?
Just kidding. I accept defeat. Thanks guys.

The fact that he still has a Yahoo account says a lot.
