[Improvement] D3D Upscaling

Description
We already have 2x res for the opengl plugin, please consider adding upscaling for the D3D plugin, or at least the option to set D3D internal res, more or less like what's featured on the GSdx plugin for PCSX2 with up to 6x, while this is not ps2 emulation, obviously, GC emulation is not so GPU intensive so maybe there is now enough performance headroom to implement this.
wasn't EFB scaled copy pretty much the same as 2x res?
- Status changed from New to Invalid
@ otomospirits: "while this is not ps2 emulation, obviously, GC emulation is not so GPU intensive"
Afaik, Gamecube has a more powerful CPU and GPU compared to PS2.
Like marcel.werner3 said, I believe "EFB scale" in the D3D plugins is the same as 2x in the OpenGL plugin.
Billiard, you are quite mistaken, while an Athlon II 3.5ghz and a radeon 4000 series is enough to reach full speed in GC emulation, you need a 4ghz I7 and a high end gfx card to reach full speed.
Any particular reason why my request was marked as invalid?? EFB scale does nothing compared to 2x in opengl and much less compared to 4x-6x res.
Issue 3199 has been merged into this issue.
Yep, EFB scaled copy under the "Enhancements" tab is the same thing as 2x resolution in the OpenGL plugin, I believe this was also stated when the EFB scaled copy option was added in the DX9 plugin configuration.
The "EFB scaled copy" enhancement option affects certain graphics but not all. One example is the in-game graphics of Rogue Leader. I am considering triggering "EFB scaled copy" based on the selection made in internal resolution. Does anybody know of any games where it is desirable to disable EFB scaled copy (the enhancement checkbox, not the pulldown)?
otomospirits, the D3D plug-in does have the option to change the internal resolution. "EFB scaled copy" is not the same as 2x, it uses the internal resolution. From what I have tested, Dolphin is now behaving just like PCSX2 with regards to internal resolution.
Skid, I was referring to efb scaled copy in the enhancements tab for the DX9 plugin, the option that affected internal resolution was formerly also referred to as EFB scale, but has been renamed to "internal resolution" and exists as a drop down in the general configuration tab for the DX9 plugin.
Yeh, the EFB scaled copy checkboxes are equivalent between OGL and DX9. I'm not sure why this is an option, I think it should always be enabled in both plugins. Does it have any negative effects (graphics glitches, slowdown)?
