Emulator Issues #4236
closedCrash on stop when using OpenGL or software video backend
0%
Description
What's the problem?
Using OpenGL plugin, every time I try to exit from the emulator (hitting the ESC key), Dolphin crashes showing 3 "memory could not be read" errors in a row.
Dolphin version with the problem (as it appears in the title bar, Ex.: "R
4779" or "R 6403M"):
r7190 and later (but couldn't find r7188 and r7189 to test)
(optional) Dolphin version that does not have the problem:
r7187
Operating system and version:
32-bit or 64-bit:
Windows XP SP3 32bit, e8400, hd4850
Game ID (as it appears in game properties, Ex.: "GZ2P01" or "RSBE01"):
Every game
Build command-line (not on Windows):
Was the ISO a plain dump from disc, compressed and/or scrubbed?
Plain dump, happens on both compressed and not compressed games
Please provide any additional information below.
I suspect that it was r7189 the cause of the problem, but I cannot be sure because as I said I couldn't find that build.

Forgot to say that with DX9 plugin there are no crashes every time you close Dolphin

On Mac OS X it has a similar bug with Open GL: it seems that OpenGL Renderer is not properly closed
While not crashing it's just when quitting a game and starting a new one it chooses the "Software Renderer Mode" and my iMac 27" doesn't show up any videos (blank screen) or images!
After login out and login in again to my account everything seems to work fine...
Could be a driver related bug, but I doubt so since it worked in older revisions...

Software renderer is affected by the "crash at exit" syndrome as well. Only Dx9 (for Dx11 I don't know) is safe at exit.

Is this issue still present after r7425?
