Description

Chibi Robo - GGTE01

The cutscene in the basement with the robot is shown as a series of stills as you can see here:

Instead it shows the first still for a second and then the screen goes black. The music keeps playing.

This problem first shows up in version 3.0-499.

To reproduce the problem just play through Chibi Robo until you get to the basement and then plug into the big robot down there to trigger the cutscene.

I've been using the 64bit versions only. My computer specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
i7 960 3.20GHz
6 GB of RAM
Radeon 5870 (driver-9.002-120928m-149042C-ATI)

Plus, 3.0-499 like revision numbers are useless. Use the git hash from the about dialog instead. (yes, that long alphanumeric string)

Sorry about this but I meant 499 in the title. Tested lots of version numbers and got a little confused there. Any way to edit it?

r7a1744575d75, eh? Check if this bug is present with all graphics backends (DX9, DX11, OpenGL), then.

DX11 and OpenGL are working fine. Want me to try software renderer also?

Eh, don't bother with software renderer, it'd take you hours. Besides, that revision only affected DX9.

I kinda doubt that r7a1744575d75 causes black screens anywhere. Could you please verify that this rev indeed caused the issue? Please use clean dolphin directories for each tested build.

Right just went back and tested again and I got mixed up. It is 505 that introduced the bug.

As I found out the cutscene is fairly long I left it running. Turns out the images are just missing. Having left it running the game returns to normal after the cutscene ends.

Also all graphics mode cause this problem, not tested software renderer.

Really sorry for all the confusion.

Yes I the latest I tried it in:

1071ccbcd5823ccf15d9ffbb8cd23ec54360d2ba

I then went back looking for the one which introduced the problem.

We reverted r0f2d31e7278b, so if that's really the cause it should be fixed on the current revision (3.0-845).

Just to make sure, you're not using savestates to test, are you? Those things are horrendously unreliable.

I have the game, but I don't have a save near that point in the game. Could you upload yours? (Export it to .gci with Tools > Memcard Manager (GC) and upload that to min.us or Dropbox or somethin'.)

To confirm I re-tested. The bug doesn't occur in 3.0 (official release).

The bug does occur in 3.0-845 r1071ccbcd582 so must have been introduced somewhere between.

What looks like the same bug first shows up in 3.0-505 r0f2d31e7278b. As that was reverted the same or similar bug must have been reintroduced. What revision comes after it was reverted? I can test that and see if the bug is still present.

Actually, never mind, we reverted a different Zcomploc implementation and went back to the 505 one. (We still can't figure out how to emulate that thing properly. v_v) Maybe the one we reverted works better? Try 3.0-678 (r146b02615c07) if you can find a build.

(By the way, your savefile didn't work, it just corrupted my memory card. So I'll just play through the game when I have spare time.)

Tried 3.0-678 (r146b02615c07) just now and it works fine.
