Description

Mario Superstar Baseball - GYQE01

What went wrong?

Randomly, the game will simply crash during transitions. It happens very infrequently but just enough to be a problem. I can have it not happen for weeks, and then happen 4 times over the course of two days. When it happens, the game is left at 0 fps, 60 fps with a BZZZZZZ playing infinitely

What did you expect to happen instead?

Honestly I thought once the backpatch errors were fixed the game wouldn't crash any more.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
[Don't assume we have played the game and know its level names. Be as
detailed as possible.]

  1. Start the game, play exhibition match, or any kind of match
  2. Hope/Pray/Wish that the emulator actually crashes.
  3. Optional: Skidau's 5994 branch is much, much, much more likely to crash that master. The Branch locks games to 59 fps.

This issue seems to be the same as the backpatch errors except it's no longer throwing up backpatch errors and just crashing outright. I've tried single core, multiple video backends, and I still don't know exactly what to do to solve this.

I've played this game in hundreds of builds of Dolphin, up to 4.0-298, and this is STILL a problem. Prior to fifo-bp merges, this was a backpatch error if I remember correctly.

This has happened on both my laptop and my desktop. There's unfortunately no screenshots or videos because this glitch is extremely rare. A Fifo-log doesn't exactly help either.
