Description

Have you searched the issue tracker for a similar issue: Yes, Issue 6347

Game Name: Dokapon Kingdom

Game ID: R2DEEB

What went wrong: When starting up the game in netplay once it goes to the menu saying what controllers work with Dokapon it immediately says "Lost Connection to Wiimote 1." From here there is nothing you can do to get past this menu.

What did you expect to happen instead: I expected the game to atleast recognize the emulated wiimote even if it is unusable in netplay itself which would allow the game to continue. However even if you turn Wiimote to none and all GC controllers on; or, turn the Wiimote Emulation it refuses to recognize a 'connected' wiimote therefore not allowing netplay.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
[Don't assume we have played the game and know its level names. Be as
detailed as possible.]
1.Start the game with a group in netplay
2.Watch as it loads to the controller screen before the title screen

Dolphin 3.5 and Dolphin 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs. Have you tested with the latest version from
http://dolphin-emu.org/download ?

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on: 4.0.1 , 4.0-22

Which version of Dolphin used to work: None

What are your PC specifications: N/A This is not a PC issue the game actually runs perfectly alone, just not in netplay.

64 or 32 bit Operating System: 64

64 or 32 bit Dolphin: 64

Any other relevant information (e.g. logs, screenshots, configuration
files)

I know that this was also questioned in Issue 6347 and a workaround was questioned. However it seems like, it may be a issue with the game itself and not the Dolphin Emulator. Therefore even if Netplay supports the wiimote it may not be a solution.

Thank you for your time.

Wiimote Netplay has had problems on other games, but I can't test this game until I find it at an affordable price.

I've seen others complain that this game doesn't work on wiimote netplay, so tentatively accepting until proven otherwise.

Rachel you're able to get past the controller menu while on netplay over the internet?

While on netplay with two local instances of dolphin. Yes.

Hmm, I was not doing local if that changes anything which I wouldn't think it would.

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on: 4.0.1 , 4.0-22

4.0.1 doesn't have emu-Wiimote netplay implemented, and 4.0-22 was shortly after it was merged in. There have been a few fixes to it since then, so go try a current dev build: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/

I'll be testing it a newer dev build then, I'll let you know if it works or not.

Alright after testing it with the newest dev version it DOES work. So I would say it is resolved. It just doesn't work on any of the stable versions.
