What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
Recently, Debian Testing/Sid has switched to libav10, according to the program:
https://wiki.libav.org/Migration/10
As usual, there are important API changes, and this time they break Dolphin build under such systems (or anyone else using libav10 for that matter). Here is a failed build log: http://pastie.org/9215088
libavcodec package version is: libavcodec-dev:amd64/jessie 6:10.1-1 uptodate
What did you expect to happen instead?
Dolphin should build just fine using libav10
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Get a Debian Testing or Sid box, fully updated as of May 25, 2014
- Try to build Dolphin there
- Enjoy your "fail to build from source" error
Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
N/A, it's a dependency issue
Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
N/A, it's a dependency issue
What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
Debian Testing AMD64, on a ASUS K53SD laptop (i5-2540M, Intel HD3000/GeForce 610M)
Are you using the 32 or the 64 bit version of Dolphin?
64-bit
Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)
This is not exclusive to Dolphin - it impacts a lot of applications using libav. Building without framedumping to AVI enabled makes no difference - build still fails
