Metroid Prime

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
When in certain rooms which contain pools of water, poison water, or lava, large blocks of visual noise appear all over the screen. The effect can obscure the screen, or cause framerate drops. Strangely, the effect seems to occur in the combat visor mode(and morph ball mode), but not the scan visor or thermal visor, even though the scan visor seems to render the world the same way the combat visor does.
The color of this visual noise seems to depend on the color of the liquid, with whitish or bluish for water and yellowish for poison water and lava. The problem doesn't seem to occur in all rooms which contain liquids, and it does not seem to be based on the quantity of liquids present in the room. Moving my character or turning my viewpoint causes the blocks to shift and jump around the screen.
In rooms where this effect does not occur, liquids still seem to contain some static, but not in a way that covers the screen or is disruptive. I've also found that jumping in and out of liquids such that a dripping fluid effect covers my visor causes framerate drops, and the effect seems full of static.
What did you expect to happen instead?
Being in the same room as liquids should not cause any graphical effects to appear all over the screen, i think.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
(I'm not sure how to describe moving though a 3d space using words, so i'll base this on this map: http://metroid.retropixel.net/games/mprime/metroidprime_map_tallon.jpg I believe that this is the first location that could be reached in the game where this problem was visible for me. The issue is more intense in some other areas, but they would be harder to get to.)
- Go through the game's intro which takes place on a spaceship. After you have finished, you should land on the surface of the planet. The room you land in is marked on the map with the "Samus' Starship" marker on the map. Compare with the in-game map if necessary.
- From your starting position on top of the ship, turn to your right to find a door into the room called "Canyon Cavern"
- Go through and into the room called "Tallon Canyon"
- Climb the platforms in this room to find the door to the room called "Root Tunnel". In this room, the pool of water in the center caused some of the visual noise to appear on the screen.
Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
4.0-5474
Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
I've yet to try on other versions of Dolphin, i suppose i should try the current latest version and the latest stable version?
What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
OS X 10.9.5, Macbook Pro Retina 13 inch late 2013, Processor "2.6 GHz Intel Core i5", Graphics "Intel Iris 1536 MB"
I wouldn't be surprised if the fact that i'm using a mac laptop were the cause of the issue, but aside from liquid rendering issues the game seems to run fine.
Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)
