Description
Game Name?
xenoblade chronicles
Game ID?
SX4E01
What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
When starting the game, the entire desktop goes black, as if dolphin is going into full screen mode, then the window appears, and I don't have dolphin set to play full screen.
What did you expect to happen instead?
Only the window shoould pop up and appear.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
[Don't assume we have ever played the game and know any level names. Be as
specific as possible.]
- Just starting the game
Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
I only tested this on 4.0-5901
Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
I only tested this on 4.0-5901
What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
Windows 7 x64, i7-3610QM, Nvidia GTX 660M
Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

I tested this with D3D, and OpenGL, it acted the same way.

Do you have the use fullscreen option in graphics settings checked?

Oh, it's probably switching between your GPUs since you're on an optimus laptop. I can't imagine OGL and D3D both causing the black screen, and I can't reproduce on my non-optimus laptops.

A GTX 660m + that processor is definitely optimus. I don't have any other way to confirm though other than everyone telling me GTX 6xxm and newer is optimus.
Marking as new in case I'm wrong.

I didn't touch any options in dolphin, so whatever the default setting is for the fullscreen is what I was using at the time.
No I don't have a Optimus GPU, it's just Nvidia only.
Anyhow, I just wanted to report this if anyone found anything.
If I get some time, I'll test this out on a newer build, and report back.

We've completely renovated the GUI since this issue, and I can't reproduce it regardless.
