closedGuitar Hero: Warriors of Rock begins severe lag and eventually crashes the program at its loading screen
0%
Description
Game Name?
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.
Game ID:
SXIE52
What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
When I start the game from my game list, the game boots just fine. When it gets to the first loading screen, it will loading for a couple seconds and then begin lagging SEVERELY(lower than 1 fps). If I do not stop the emulation within a minute or two, Dolphin will crash. Sometimes this lag and crash happens on the wrist strap screen, but it's more common on the loading screen.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
5.0-rc-25, rc-13, rc-3
4.0-7636 and several other development versions that I don't remember
4.0.2
All of these versions have the same issue.
What are your PC specifications?
Windows 10, 64 bit
Intel Core i3 4150 3.5GHz
AMD Radeon R9 270X
8GB RAM
Is there any other relevant information?
This same issue happens on Guitar Hero 5, which runs on the same engine as Warriors of Rock.

I'm not sure if that relates to this particular game but this is the only game I have ever had refuse to work so perhaps it is related. I first tried launching this game a couple of weeks ago(not sure if those numbers at the beginning of each line is a timestamp or not).
Additionally, I have actually gotten this game to work twice. I did not do anything AT ALL differently when it did run. While it was running it ran at a smooth 60fps with very little lag. These two successes were not back-to-back; there were several failures before it ran the second time. I cannot get the game to run again. Other Guitar Hero games run fine(World Tour, Smash Hits, Van Halen, and Metallica all run with no issues and at a near-constant 60fps).

- Relates to usability changed from Yes to No
- Operating system N/A added
- Operating system deleted (
Windows)
"Relates to usability" is for confusing UI and similar things, not games being glitchy or crashing. Also, don't tag an operating system unless the issue is believed to be specific to it.

This game has a patch in the INI that prevents it from doing this, I believe.

I thought we had a patch for either this game or Guitar Hero 5, but I took a look, and we actually don't have INIs at all for these two games.

This should be fixed by PR4408's whitelist for LibUSB Passthrough.

My earlier comment was wrong - we do have INIs for at least Guitar Hero 5 (but I couldn't find it because the title was listed as "Sample Game Game").

Guitar Hero 5 patch removed in https://github.com/dolphin-emu/dolphin/pull/4838
We don't have an INI for Warriors of Rock.
