Description

Game Name?

Mario Party 6 - GP6E01

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

Even though the game is running full speed, the FPS drops when using virtual XFB. It's very noticeable in motion sequences. RealXFB and NoXFB are perfectly smooth.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

Run the game with VirtualXFB enabled.

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which versions of Dolphin used to work?

4.0-9215

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

Core i5 3570K, GTX 760, Windows 10

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

Nope

Note: VPS remains stable even under VirtualXFB. It's only the framerate that suffers, the game is still running full speed. I thought maybe it was some kind of emulated lag, but, overclocking the emulated CPU did not help.

Is this an issue in 4.0.2?

Have you tried single core? Could be because of dropped frames...

  • Subject changed from Mario Party 6 framedrops with VirtualXFB to Mario Party 5 - 8 framedrops with VirtualXFB

I do not use dualcore, I tested back all the way to 4.0.2 and it's still an issue.

Mario Party 5 - 8 are all affected.

This also affects RealXFB, but it lies and says 60/60 as I should have realized.

Turns out the frame-limiter was wrong...
