Do you have all the other files necessary for NAND emulation? It seems like you're trying to go from default NAND to having everything, and I'm still not 100% clear on what's required to do that. Maybe we need keys.bin as well for this...

I was unaware that you needed anything other than a System Menu, the required IOS for that System Menu, and the certs from that one IOS extracted with the tool downloaded from the Wiki page

Sidenote, As far as I know, the System Menu should not boot without the required IOS being installed on a normal Wii, yet you can run the System Menu without any IOS's installed. Is this intentional or should I make a separate issue for it

I think we allow things in the gamelist to be booted without any IOS installed as a hack to help people run games without needing to do any of this, it is not a bug.

You'll have to wait for leo to get on for a good answer as to what you're doing wrong or if there's a bug, sorry. I'm mostly following his instructions, which, for me used a real NAND. He apparently got it working from Dolphin's default NAND though, so, there's likely a way to do it.

I would argue that if someone goes out of the way to install a System Menu, they should be aware of the fact that they also have to install the IOS's required. Just my two cents

I would use a copy of a real NAND, but my Wii is not currently set up and the last image I took of it before I unhooked it somehow got corrupted during transfer to my backup server

I'm using a real NAND, yet I still get the error too. I have my keys.bin and certs (basically everything you need from a real wii)

It's working here using both a dumped NAND and a blank NAND + SM (4.3) + SM IOS (IOS80) (and with certs, of course).

Does an offline update work for you? If it does, then please enable logs for IOS and IOS_ES, set the log level to Info and post them. (You can keep logging enabled if you want -- there won't be any performance hit with these two log types).

What do you mean by an offline update? If you are referring to a Disc Update, then yes, that worked perfectly and upgraded my nand to the latest that was on the disc

My problem got fixed, it was just an old priiloader install.

If the updates aren't working, something is going wrong. I verified (again) that system updates work, but, I've been using my real Wii NAND. I'm not entirely sure exactly what is required still.

Can the status be changed, the problem that was deemed invalid was not my problem. I still cannot get updates to work at all other than throwing a error

So, Nintendo must of changed their SSL certs at some point in the Wii's lifespan or something, because while I couldn't get 2.0U to update, when I installed 4.3U it finally started updating, but eventually ran into another issue that I will open an issue about separately
