Description

Game Name?

Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Fortune Street

The above will not launch, I would test more to see if it really could be all Wii games, but these are the only two Wii games I have.

Game ID? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Info tab)
RSBE01
ST7E1

[Put Game ID here]

MD5 Hash? (right click the game in the game list, Properties, Verify tab, Verify Integrity button)

Super Smash Bros. Brawl: d18726e6dfdc8bdbdad540b561051087
Fortune Street: c67944c05a6210ac1841c38f9b6666d0

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

Games will immediately close when trying to launch them directly after an update to Dolphin. After one restart, it will work, until the next update.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Update Dolphin.
  2. Without having restarted Dolphin, launch a Wii game. (GameCube games seem to work fine)
  3. The Wii game will end and immediately bring you back to the main Dolphin menu.

Is the issue present in the latest development version? For future reference, please also write down the version number of the latest development version.

Yes.

Is the issue present in the latest stable version?

Unsure, as I don't believe the base 5.0 build is being fed updates, unless I can force it to update to test.

If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)

What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)

Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)

Insert SD Card is on. I thought of trying to turn it off, but only after I closed Dolphin to restart it, so I must wait for the next update to test it again.

I can't reproduce this issue.

Have you tried launching a Wii game directly after updating Dolphin, without restarting it since updating?

Update: Just got on and saw there was another update, so I updated to 11048 to test, and it still happens, regardless of if Insert SD Card is off or not. Use Screen Saver and Pal60 Mode also seem to have no influence on this and it'll happen regardless of if they're on or not.

Are you updating manually or using the automatic updater?

I am using the automatic updater. Sorry for not clarifying this earlier.

... And sorry for the double post, but right after posting that I just thought of another thing that could matter. (It probably doesn't, but I never know)
My updater is set to dev (Multiple times a day).

That's strange, for me that exact same procedure gives me weird results. You're using the auto-updater?

Are you by chance using portable mode or using relative paths in any of your settings for the Wii NAND?
