Emulator Issues #1638
closedRequest: Sound dumping (like framedumping)
0%
Description
This is not a request for a sound dumping utility, I've already done that.
I'm wondering if it would be possible to implement real-time sound dumping
along with the frame dump utility. Currently whenever you dump a video it
has no sound. This should be possible, as desmume does this, but is DSP
emulation stable enough for this?

This should be fairly easy to add... what sound format do you want?
Windows Vista and beyond don't let you capture output mix, do they?

WAV and MP3 would be the most used formats, I'd say. Sound output mix is different
from what I'm requesting, that's the real-time sound output from your computer. I'm
talking about the sound output from Dolphin dumped to an AVI along with rendered
frames, then played back later in real time. Unless I'm interpreting your question
wrong?

He wants Dolphin to dump video with sound (as a single video file). I'd like this too.

Agreed, don't know why this has seemed to have lost interest. Would really like to see some further development into this, it will change Dolphin a great deal in terms of recording gameplay and speedruns.

This hasn't been thoroughly tested, but it seems to do the trick.

I broke my build trying to apply it-- TortoiseSVN is a pain with patches. I'm trying to figure it out, and I'll post a build if I get it working.
