Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Load up Mario galaxy with D3D9 plugin
2.Play for a couple of minutes during a mission or fight a boss
3.You get an error and you get black screen but the game still plays and
you can hear that you can still control Mario.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to play the game with no black screen and I see a black screen

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Any latest version. Windows Vista/7

Please provide any additional information below.
I have read that this only happens with NVIDIA 8800 card and D3D0 plugin.
This does not happen in OpenGL. The message I get before blackscreen is:
"FramebufferManager::Create FAIL: Depth Color Texture"
I tried turning of panic handlers but the screen just goes black
then.Anyone else get this?

Confirmed for Galaxy 2 as well. Certain scenes/animations in the game (or just
pressing up on d-pad) causes the screen to turn and stay permanetely black - usually
in boss battles.

Only on D3D plugin. This seems regardless of settings or type of nvidia card being
used (I have a 260gtx). Also using Win7. This stinks and makes not using this plugin
an option, despite it being so much faster than Opengl plugin.

Was there ever a time where the D3D plugin didn't do this? Is this a regression or
always existed?

Still black screens for me with DX9. HOWEVER, DX11 doesn't have this problem! Just waiting on DX11 to be as good as DX9, then they'll be no looking back!! :)
