Description
When I try to play Animal crossing city folk (wii game) there comes a error
:unknown device: dev/usb/kbd !!
I am using
Revision 1206
On Intel core 2 duo 2,66 ghz system
Windows Vista x64bit
After this Error the game freezes (at the wii-mote screen)
So the new Animal crossing has .brstm ...sound files
and if this problem is solved with the error,it would be playable with
sound !
WHAT IS THIS ERROR ?

this game actually requires keyboard to work?

Look like it does. From the Wikipedia entry for the game:
"Animal Crossing: City Folk is the first Wii game to use Wii Speak, a new microphone
option for the Wii which enables voice communication over Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
With Wii Speak, all people in a room may communicate with those in another room also
containing the device, and can also have live text chat using a USB Keyboard.[2]"

Sounds pretty easy to implement... After all, we're all using one! ;)

Just a status update. This game actually boots/works with R1335, but of course, you
need the keyboard and the WiiSpeak add on. :)

Hey guys i get this error on loading the WiiOS right after HealthScreen and i cant
really solve this problem with the files from the Link for Animal Crossing. Anyone
know what that is?
Updated by sl1nk3.s almost 16 years ago
it's just an unimplemented feature, it should work fine if you just skip the error
message by pressing OK though.

Nope after i clicked OK another error pops up and says CWII_IPC_HLE_Device_Error
(actually its a warning) and when i click OK everything freezes. So i cant get past
the Health Screen. For this i used R2648.
I just compiled R2654 and the two errors do not appear anymore but its still freezing
the same way it was before, right between Health Screen and System Menu.

Well i had those two errors too, but then it just goes on...
So it's could be bad settings (try to tweak prog. scan / 60Hz / language) or
unsupported version of the WII maybe.

According to wiibrew, /dev/usb/kbd is blocking. The current KBD implementation,
however, just returns without creating any event data which, unless I'm mistaken, is
equivalent to constantly returning garbage.

Ehh...fixed?The keyboard device work perfect for me in some games that use keyboard
(ex : animal crossing city folk).
PS : The keyboard device need a option for have ON and OFF the keyboard device,
becouse when you are writing something in..."ex : a website", all that are you
writing appear in the game.
