Description
Zelda 4 swords adventure (a GameCube) frooze. It is really strange, the emulator works great on heavy 3D games (like Super Smash Bros Brawl).
I am under Linux Ubuntu 12.04 x86_64. I have installed dolphin-emu (version 3.0-681) with the official PPA. I played with a XBox360 USB-pad.
- Game Name and ID : he Legend of Zelda: Four Swords FOR NINTENDO GAMECUBE; G4SP01
- What is the expected output ? The next frame.
What do you see instead ? The same frame.
3) Did the game ever work correctly (i.e. not have this problem) on an
earlier version of dolphin? I have not tested. - What version of dolphin are you using ? Dolphin 3.0-681 on Linux Ubuntu 12.04 x86_64 from PPA
On what hardware ? AMD Athlon 2 3.2 GHz and Nvidia GTS 450.

Not fixed. Happened to me just now. 2-19-2013

If the issue still occurs provide some useful information..
A game save to the location where the game locks up..
The settings you are using..
The dolphin version you are using!!
Updated by tregotyler almost 12 years ago
Downloaded dolphin yesterday so it's the latest version. Using recommended
settings from the wiki. Locks up in first level, relatively early.
Updated by Billiard26 almost 12 years ago
The "latest version" is not very helpful.
What does "latest version" mean to you?
Updated by tregotyler almost 12 years ago
That would be 3.5 - 367. Sorry hadn't realized there were so many different
development versions.

in lvl 1-1 game crashed for me after getting the fire rod, then going through the cave over the river to the left and then entereing next area north. i tried to pickup the boomerang again after burning the stumps outside the house and going over the river. this solved the problem for me and the game went on without crashing.

Does the game freeze when using DSP LLE?
Does the game freeze when using single core mode?
Which Dolphin revision was tested?

Experiencing crash on level 1-1 trying to enter North area after river. Tried taking boomerang instead of fire rod and still crashes. Tried on single and dual core, crashes. Tried with DSP LLE, crashes dolphin as well as inability to load states. Running version 3.5-367

I cannot reproduce the crashes. I was using four VBA-Ms as controllers and derping around in the game. I was using Dolphin 4.0-235, on my Core i5 3570K with a GTX 760. Game was running full speed. I also used a redump.org confirmed personal dump from my Wii. If no one can describe how to make it crash, then I will assume fixed and close.
I was using default settings except I had idle skipping off to fix input problems.

No response, assuming fixed. Will re-open if updated.

It is not fixed yet. Which datas do you need to solve the problem ? I also picked up the boomerang again after burning the trees but the game still crashed. My dolphin version is 4.0.2.

I just attempted to do this on my legally dumped, NTSC ISO which matches the redump.org MD5. I was not able to induce crashing through any means without using any kinds of special settings both on 4.0.2 and on 4.0-481.
I am suspecting one of four things.
1: We're using different regions of the game, and the other region has a glitch. That's entirely possible, and could make this valid.
2: Your dumped it improperly and that's causing the crash. Those two are unlikely due to the fact that other people are having the crash, leaving us with this.
3: There's a specific option causing the crash that both I and a dev on dolphin aren't enabling because we cannot crash it.
4: There's a bad dump on the internet and people are downloading it.
You don't have to answer which, I don't want to implicate you or any other users. What you can do for me is download the program, http://www.winmd5.com/ here and check your ISO. Compare it to the dump on http://redump.org/disc/6585/
If you're on PAL, use http://redump.org/disc/9221/ I didn't feel like looking NTSC-J so meh, if you're using that, just search the site yourself.
If it does match completely, then that's your problem. If for some reason they do match, then use the latest development version of dolphin, reproduce the crash, and post your settings.
Thank you for your time, and I hope my instructions help narrow down your issue! Reopening this for the time being.

I tried both versions of the game , but neither the european one, nor the english (american) one worked.
I downloaded "WinMD5" and checked my ISO.I am currently using the PAL version and the MD5 code was : 989ebac2db88849a546d953c6bf61cee , the codes dont match.
"If it does match completely, then that's your problem. If for some reason they do match, then use the latest development version of dolphin, reproduce the crash, and post your settings." And what should I do if they dont match ? Still reproduce it and post my settings ?
As you said I used the latest version ( 4.0-485 ) and the game crashed again with my PAL version of the game. I dont know exactly what you mean with "post your settings" but I can say which emulator settings I changed. I enabled "Skip CPU EFB Access" and disabled "idle skipping" and thats actually it.

I'm sorry, but I can't assist you if your game dumps are not proper. When the ISO dump does not match the proper one, there is a good chance that crashes and bugs are caused by the improperly dumped game. It's the same thing as throwing a damaged disc in a Wii/GC, except worse.
Assuming that this bug is on the users end.

Crash here too.
Try load state from this file:
https://mega.co.nz/#!noIzzApB!pplb3-U34whrQTXkOsmawI4e9USMk6m7xY35hkZHKCg
Just load the state and go to up. It freezes and not change screen. FPS turn 0. Dolphin continues running "normally".
Running 4.0-1034
