Description

This is a feature request/enhancement, but I can't find the "Enhancement" template in the template box.

I would like a command-line option that shows a screen that allows one to pair Wii Remotes before Dolphin shows it's main window or launches a game as per existing command-line parameters. It would greatly benefit HTPC setups that prefer launching directly into Dolphin without having to configure Wii Remotes manually every time. It should greatly streamline the experience.

The easiest way I can think of doing this is making the Wiimote Configuration UI open when a certain parameter is specified. It's not the best solution, but it certainly takes the least effort.

I imagine just a simple call to the method that opens the Wiimote Config GUI when an arg is present. This would already make a great difference.

even better would be automatically pairing by pressing the power button on the wiimote (MotionInJoy can do this with the PS3 controller) but I assume this would require a custom bluetooth driver to accomplish.

I suggested the most simplest solution to this problem, that is adding a new launch param and calling the Wiimote Config GUI. I could probably implement it myself, it would probably take about 5 minutes to do, but I don't want to mess with building the program, and I'm not very familiar with C++ either.

Started work in real-wiimote-scanning branch.

While Real Wiimote Scanning is awesome, could a Project Member add my propose arg for the time being? It's such a trivial addition, but will help greatly in the meantime, just a call to WiimoteConfigDiag() when checking Startup Parameters, and waiting for it to close before a This will allow much more convenient pairing of Wiimotes when calling from a frontend .

Yeah, Real Wiimotes should be always refreshed every time dolphin starts. Currently this happens only at random, sometimes it works automatically, sometimes not. The user has to manually click the refresh button to be sure that a Wiimote is connected.

real-wiimote-scanning merge should eliminate the need for this.

"Should eliminate the need" as in, if it's been enabled in the GUI beforehand, Dolphin will constantly search for Wii Remotes while the game's running, so just press 1+2 once in-game or while the game's starting. (Gotta be descriptive, Billy!)

Has this made it into the version available in the repository?

I'm unable to get my wiimote to connect to dolphin at all when launched through 'Advanced Launcher', I have to open the wiimote configuration dialog each time and click the refresh button.
