Description

Game affected:
Mario Party 5 (PAL, I do not know for NTSC)

The problem:
Each time a character stop on a square Bowser / Donkey Kong / Challenge or there are only 5 laps to go, the game does not allow it to be successful.

All versions of Dolphin are concerned from 3.5-204 precisely (included 3.5-394)

My setup:
Intel i3-2350m with a nVidia GeForce 410M
Windows 7 64bit

Have you tried running the game in LLE audio? I played the NTSC version on Dolphin with no issues whatsoever around the 3.0-4xx.

Try testing 3.0, see if it still freezes, and then try changing some settings, I'll do the same in NTSC.

The problem is not audio and the official 3.5 does not have the bug that started to appear with the 3.5-204 (with always all settings defaults).

Alright, thank you. I'll test and see if the problem is in NTSC.

I actually decided that it'd be better to test the problem in PAL and I had a big long rant lined up to say you shouldn't edit stuff without confirming it.

Then, with CPU mode on as I was writing the post, it froze.

I'm going to jump to conclusions right now and say you haven't tested LLE audio, because the freeze happened AFTER the AX-HLE audio died.

Before that happened, there was no freeze on a DK event, Bowser event, or Last turn event.

Also, you shouldn't edit the Wiki with an issue you haven't gotten confirmed. At the very least, you should wait and see if there is a work-around for the issue. In this case, the fix will probably be to use LLE audio, I'll do testing on that next.

Could you give me the rest of the settings you were using, as well as test LLE audio settings? Also, could you tell me if you had music stop working before the freezes?

As you said, with the LLE game does not crash.
I did not pay attention to detail of the music stop playing because it in AX-HLE cuts very quickly, which is not the case in LLE.
My setting are dual core and idle skipping ON, JIT recompile, backend Open AL, with Direct3D9: Scaled EFB Copy, ignore size exchange, EFB copy to texture, texture cache in the middle and external frame buffer disable.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

No problem, because it's an issue in AX-HLE, it started in the build that merged the AX-HLE branch, which was 3.5-78 or something.

I'm doing an LLE playthrough of the game right now to make sure that's the issue. I'll add the requirement of LLE audio to the wiki-page if it is indeed confirmed!

I can confirm this issue only happens on HLE, LLE audio fixes the problem. No Music stopping, no hanging or any other ill effects.

Because AX-HLE is still being worked on, I'm sure the issue will be resolved in eventually land.
