Description
Game Name?
All games.
What went wrong?
Setting "EFBToTextureEnable = False" isn't doing anything.
What did you expect to happen instead?
Typing that option into a game's ini should activate EFB to RAM.
What steps will reproduce the problem?
- Place EFBToTextureEnable = False into any game's INI file.
- See if EFB to RAM is working when the game is running.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
4.0-126
Which version of Dolphin used to work?
Not sure, since I only recently needed to use this option.
64 or 32 bit Operating System?
Windows 8.1, x64.
64 or 32 bit Dolphin?
64-Bit.
- Status changed from New to Accepted
I've been experiencing some oddities with this as well. Accepted unless someone can tell me otherwise.
Are you talking about the default gameini or the local?
The game's individual INI file, the one you get when you right-click on a game, go to properties, and then click Edit Config.
Btw you should never open the graphic settings window when you set that option in the ini after the game has booted to check if it works, you should realize it from the results (for example ingame pictures in various games that have the option appear properly, etc.). The default gameini works fine here btw with EFBToTextureEnable = False.
Kosta, I had problems on Mario Sunshine and Metroid Prime, and MaJoR reported similar behavior to me as well. I don't think it's working right all the time in all conditions.
- Status changed from Accepted to Questionable
JMC for Metroid prime a past gameini auto cleanup (with script) deleted the setting from the database and i fixed that. I am having my doubts with this one since i was never able to replicate it and i have tried a lot of games. Just checked the local gameini and works fine there too.
To op, are these the lines that you put and it doesn't work:
[Video_Hacks]
EFBToTextureEnable = False
EFBCopyEnable = True
And like i said before you should realize it from the result and not by opening the graphic settings window to check this out.
Okay, well, apparently I may just be stupid. My file didn't have the "EFBCopyEnable = True" line in it. Adding that fixed the problem. Sorry for the issue clutter.
What JMC said is correct, and others on the forum have confirmed it as well. Even when the lines are in the GameINI, some very specific EFB to Texture errors will slip through on some backends if EFB to Texture is set in the GUI. So far I've confirmed it on all the prime games (visual errors appearing for brief moments) and Sunshine (goop is impossible to spray away). I'll do some research on this and show everyone.
I keep meaning to work on this but you know, been busy.
Major do you have cache enabled for efb to ram in the general settings or the ini? The way you put it sounds like an issue with the setting itself and not with the gameini option not working.
- Status changed from Questionable to Fixed
I am talking the initial issue as fixed. If efb to Ram setting doesn't work properly is a different issue all together that should be stated in a different report.
