What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
dolphin hangs at random point after 10 - 20 seconds of game start, when OpenGL renderer is used. Never happens in d3d.

What did you expect to happen instead?
No hangs expected.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Start any game and wait...

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
dolphin-master-4.0-1875-x64

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
At least 1k revisions back are same. Others not tested.

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
Win 8, i5-3337u, Intel HD graphics 4000,

Are you using the 32 or the 64 bit version of Dolphin?
x64

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)

Probably, this is hd graphics issue, since such hangs never happens on my desktop with Radeon HD 5750.

Probably related to the Windows 8 + Intel HD4000 shader cache issues.

Please find the revision when the behavior changed. We have nothing to go on until then.

I don't think you will like it, same as me (since less hope for it being fixed)...
The last version without hangs is 3.5-663 and 3.5-1025 already has the hang, while no versions between those are available.

There aren't any versions in between; the numbering is just weird.

3.5-1025 is the glsl merge, i.e. when OpenGL started using shaders.

Are you using the latest Intel drivers? I have an HD4000 series chip, and I've never run into this issue.

As for me, this means that 3.5-663 were merged with branch that had 362 own revisions, that we don't have any builds for. 663 + 362 = 1025.

Regarding the drivers, I will recheck it again when gain access to that tablet pc, but windows update don't offer me any updated drivers there, while it offers updated drivers for radeon hd5750 on my desktop when time comes.

Well... I have latest POSSIBLE drivers installed.
15.33.22.64.3621 available on Intel site, but can't be installed for me, because installer says "This driver is not checked to work with this computer. Download the needed driver on PC manufacturer site. The installer will exit now."
Tablet manufacturer site has driver versions same as already installed.

This ticked is invalid. I succeeded to install latest driver by deleting old first. Now no hangs and fps increased in nearly twice.

  • Status changed from New to Invalid

Fine with me :)

Glad you found a solution.
