Description

Game Name?
Metroid Prime Trilogy

Game ID?
R3ME01

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.
When trying to load the single-player for any of the Prime games, Dolphin loads the system menu. I assume this happens with Prime 2 multi-player as well; I just have not tested it.

What did you expect to happen instead?
The single-player to load properly

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Load Metroid Prime Trilogy
  2. Create a Save Slot
  3. Load any of the single-player games (any difficulty)
  4. Watch the system menu load

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?
4.0-4760
4.0-4724 (The build that broke it)

Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which
versions of Dolphin used to work?
4.0-4722

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)
CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K at 3.5GHz
GPU: Nvidia GTX 680 (Driver version: 344.75)
RAM: 16GB 1600MHz
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Is there any other relevant information? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files)
Nope

Tested and confirmed.

4.0-4715 win64 - Fine
4.0-4722 win64 - Fine
4.0-4724 win64 - Broken
4.0-4784 win64 - Broken

I loaded all three games and multiplayer. None of them worked.

While I was at it, I tried some other ES_Launch activities. Launching software from the system menu dumps you back into the system menu. And launching a masterpiece in brawl dumps you back into the system menu. That's a ton of ES_Launch that's messed up.

Curiously, launching Wii Sports from the Disc Channel still works! But the audio was messed up for a while after it started. Weird. It doesn't do that in 4.0-4722. Going from a game to the System Menu still works (with the same momentary audio distortions).

ES_Launch is definitely broken by 4.0-4724 -> https://dolphin-emu.org/download/dev/e7eb4c06e2ae6bc14f5c509f4ebcbb1364da7f5e/

This is fixed in PR 1756. I have only tested it in SSBB, so it would be nice to have it tested in Metroid Prime Trilogy too. http://dl.dolphin-emu.org/prs/pr-1756-dolphin-latest-x64.7z

PR 1756 indeed fixes Metroid Prime Trilogy.

In response to MaJoRoesch, I cannot get Wii Sports to load off the Disc Channel? Any game for that matter. It says that it's unable to read the disc; however, I suppose this might just be my problem.

I have the same problem with the Disc Channel. It even happens in 4.0-4722, so it's probably not related.

Disregard what I said about the Disc Channel - I was trying to launch NTSC games on a PAL System Menu. I'll try to fix the problem.

Regarding the disc channel issue, I thought the issue may be on my end because I didn't have a full NAND dump of my Wii. After dumping, it's still not reading.

4.0-4808 doesn't laucnh Metroid Prime Trilogy games. Or at least not MP1. Don't know about the other 2 because I'm playing them in order.

Tested roughly 26 hours ago.
