Okami Restauration Cut-scene doesn't trigger

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.
In the beginning of Okami you learn the Retauration ability with the ink brush. When I try to use that to restore the River of Heavens no cut-scene is triggered. This also happens in the tutorial at the bridge,the bridge appears after the cut-scene but not during the cut-scene like it is suppose to.
The brush is not the problem since it works on the star constellation.

This doesn't seem to happen if the game is started at that native wii resolution. If the effect triggers the ink also looks differently (it doesn't look like ink). If the ink looks like ink then it doesn't work.
Changing the resolution while the game is running doesn't fix this.

So not using the "multiple of..." resolution option seems to have fixed this. On the other hand, every time the restauration is triggered the game freezes for around 2s but i think this is a known issue. How do i delete this?

That's a bit strange. I'd expect the fractionional IR setting(Window size) to cause issues. The multiple of 640x528 should be fine, because for the game it's the same as setting the IR to fixed 1x, 2x, 3x ... As long as you don't resize the window while playing that is.

The stutter is known, and it's caused by the efb access. Opengl should have less stutter than d3d. Oh, and some things later require efb to ram(efb to texture only disabled) and possibly need dual core disabled. The effects all have in common that you paint something, and your painting becomes a used texture in the game(on a canvas and on a cloth).

So, did you know that "Multiple of" resolution option gives slightly different resolutions than using 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x? See Mario Kart Wii for a clear example of this on the railing in Rainbow road.

Considering the side-effects a non-integer resolution can have, this seems like a bug that should be fixed.

I got it working with barely any problems now (the game freezes for about 2 seconds whenever you use that restauration technique). It just seems like the two auto-resolution options don't work that well but I can't definatly confirm this. I just set the integral resolution to 1080p with the config stuff per game and it works.
The only other issue i noticed is that I can't get the dodging move to work where you have to swing the nunchuck in a certain direction. It doesn't respond properly but i read that this ability isn't that usefull.

I don't actally know if the randomness and unresponsiveness of the nuncuck swinging in Okami is cause by the emulator or the game itself.

Can confirm. I played the game again and had no issues. Even the short freezing when using the restauration technique is gone.
