[Wii Remote cannot be recognized by Mac OSX running High Sierra 10.13 Beta 5 ]
What steps will reproduce the problem?
[Controllers, Wii Remote1, Real Wii Remote, Refresh, the leds of the remote are all flashing but the led of the left never lit and the others are not lit off]
It is important to make sure the bug hasn't already been fixed. Please tell us what the latest version you've verified the bug on.
[Dolphin 5.0-5130]
Is the issue present in the latest stable version?
[no it is fine with stable version 5.0]
If the issue isn't present in the latest stable version, which is the first broken version? (You can find the first broken version by bisecting. Windows users can use the tool https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-green-notice-development-thread-unofficial-dolphin-bisection-tool-for-finding-broken-builds and anyone who is building Dolphin on their own can use git bisect.)
[I was able to go up to version 5.0-5048 and the bug is still there, I was not able to find which version the bug appear)]
If your issue is a graphical issue, please attach screenshots and record a three frame fifolog of the issue if possible. Screenshots showing what it is supposed to look like from either console or older builds of Dolphin will help too. For more information on how to use the fifoplayer, please check here: https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=FifoPlayer
[I don't know]
What are your PC specifications? (CPU, GPU, Operating System, more)
[Mac book Pro Retina 15 inch, Intel I7- 2.5 Ghz, 16 Gig, Nvidia 750 M 2 Gb]
Is there anything else that can help developers narrow down the issue? (e.g. logs, screenshots,
configuration files, savefiles, savestates)
[thank you]

Bisecting will allow you go back and find the build that broke it. That's integral for us to figure out what needs to be changed to make the behavior better, especially if the bug is on our end.
Bisecting means to go halfway between the known good (5.0 in this case) and known broken, 5.0-5048, and cut the number of potentially broken builds in half until you find the one that broke it. If you can do that, we'll be able to provide some better help.

Does Dolphin close properly? Could you post backtraces of all threads to see if a Wiimote thread is stuck somewhere? Without this info, I can't do anything about it. Can't repro it on Windows, nor on Linux, and my PR only touched the common Wiimote code.

Do you need more info regarding this bug or you have all the informations you need ?
Updated by JMC4789 over 7 years ago
I think looking into the backtraces and seeing if Dolphin closes cleanly are important. If you can't get those or don't know how, at least answering about if it closes properly would help a little.

I can tell you that this issue does not requires to load any game, it is part of the emulator config which at this point do not recognize the real wii remote

As you can see the commit show that the wii remote code has been changed to solve a bug and this change has caused the bug

Windows x64 Android Mac OS X
commit c827fdd2b576d34af43a9cb3b80ecd9616493cf6
Author: Léo Lam leo@innovatetechnologi.es
Date: Thu Jul 7 15:40:14 2016 +0200
WiimoteReal: Don't block on refresh
This changes Refresh() to use the existing scanning thread to scan for
devices, instead of running the scan on the UI thread and blocking it.
Also makes the UI thread not block when Continuous Scanning is disabled
and removes duplicated code.
Should fix issue 8992.
Under the hood:
* The scanning thread is now always active, even when continuous
scanning is disabled.
* The initialize code which waits for Wiimotes to be connected also
uses the scanning thread instead of scanning on yet another thread.
* The scanning thread now always checks for disconnected devices, to
avoid Dolphin thinking a Wiimote is still connected when it isn't. So
we now check if we need new Wiimotes or a Balance Board at scan time.

This commit refer to the bug which was referred as a Real Wii Remote Fix see earlier post PR #3988

I am having the same issues with Sierra. Offical works no problems but any of the newer builds not working. I am using the dolphin bar by mayflash. and using real wiimote options as well.

OK after hours of testing the last build that works for Sierra 10.12 is 5.0-860. I hope this helps you guys. Took me hours of downloading version after version to find one that works.
