Emulator Issues #6011
closed[D3D9] Problem on transparency with DX9
0%
Description
Games affected :
Tales on symphonia dawn in the new world (RT4PAF)
Zelda twilight princess (GZ2P01 - GC version)
Pokemon XD (GXXP01)
and other
This affects only DX9. Software, DX11 and OGL are not affected.
The problem is that some textures (do not know it's the same type) that appears on the screen even if an item is supposed to hide it (this way I can see the doors of Metroid Prime 2 through walls)
I use Dolphin 3.5-400 64bit (with as without LLE) and the problem is there since 3.5-146
3.5-146 : http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/source/detail?r=b06f30f8452af075f5929e37f168e54bfd37083a
My configuration : Intel I3-2350m, nVidia 410m with Windows 7 64bit
My setting : default settings

Looks zcomploc related, which would make this a dup of issue 4841.

The issue 4841 was reopened in April 2012, or that I speak of is from 3.5-146 (3.5-147 is the rewriting comment)of january 8 2013, unless of course it (issue 4841) is been corrected since then still open) I do not believe that can be described as a dublicate of issue 4841

I don't have all the games, but using your reference screenshot I went to the spot you were at in Twilight Princess (GC) and could not reproduce the problem.

If I'm doing something wrong, please let me know, but I don't have the other games to test.

I will send you links to other images which contains my configuation and other examples of games that are affected by the same problem.
Mario Party 5 : http://i.imgur.com/mgiiH6I.jpg?1
Pokemon colosseum (idem for Pokemon XD): http://i.imgur.com/8KSkeza.jpg?1
Note: with EFB copies to ram the bug is still present but less virulent.

I have Mario Party 5, and it doesn't happen at all on my computer, EFB to Texture or to Ram.
Could you try updating your graphics drivers and such? I use a nVidia GTX 470, which should use the same drivers as your card. I'm on 64 bit windows as well, and 64 bit dolphin.

The problem was the graphics drivers (nVidia 266 -> 306), so video games was touched thank you.
So after testing a few games to see how they include (with a smile), a problem is still there with Super Mario Sunshine (no relation with 3.5-146 or this topic), gray cubes are present in the path of moving platforms in episode 6 of Bianco hills (the first world).

with better internal resolution : http://i.imgur.com/PKX31Yr.png?1
I'll do some research if revisions do not have this problem

After testing a few branches, only mipmap_fixes corrects this problem (the gray cubes), however, this same branch introduces many problems (graphical changes intervenes between 3.0-786 and 3.0-792).

Otherwise the problem about the transparency can be closed.

Could anyone please confirm that the issue is fixed in master?

The problem is still present with 3.5-428

With dolphin 3.5-1877 in Mario Sunshine, the gray cubes are always here, all plugin are affected (OGL, D3D9 and D3D11), my config is the same and graphics settings do not change.
Cubes indicate the range of movement of the platforms, they should not be visible.
