You can work around this by unchecking "Render to Main Window" in Graphics > General.

This does not work for me on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. Related to bug #7568 on my end. Nothing renders when not using RenderToMain=True for me.

Then I'm not sure what it is but I also get the "Render to Main Window full screen shows menubar and status bar" issue as well as the other bug. With different window decorations:

Are you using the latest master, by any chance? The toolbar shouldn't be there (if that's fullscreen).

Still present in 4.0-2638. Un-checking "Render to Main Window does give the desired Fullscreen effect, however it does so on a second window.

My plan to address this issue is to make "Render to Main Window" render to a separate window when going to fullscreen. Once fullscreen is exited it will render to the main window again.

The advantage of this method is that fullscreen mode behaves the same regardless of the "Render to Main Window" option, including exclusive fullscreen support. The downside is that you can no longer display tool windows such as logs in fullscreen.

Would that be acceptable?
