Description

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong.

Dolphin always puts the render window on the primary monitor, regardless of the monitor Dolphin was on.

Dolphin also does not seem to remember the last position of the fullscreen game. If you manually fullscreen on secondary and launch the game next time with the Use Fullscreen option, the game will again run on the primary screen.

Tested with both OpenGL and Direct3D backends, it behaves the same.

What steps will reproduce the problem?

(with Use Fullscreen disabled)

  1. Move Dolphin's main window over to the secondary monitor
  2. Launch a game, it will appear on the primary monitor

or

  1. Enable Graphics -> Use Fullscreen
  2. Move Dolphin's main window over to the secondary monitor
  3. Launch a game, it will appear on the primary monitor, fullscreen

or

  1. Move Dolphin's main window over to the secondary monitor
  2. Launch a game and move it to secondary as well (if not already there)
  3. Manually make the game fullscreen (alt+enter, check hotkey settings)
  4. Close the game and re-launch it, it will appear on the primary monitor

Which versions of Dolphin did you test on? Does using an older version of Dolphin solve your issue? If yes, which versions of Dolphin used to work?

I tested this on 4.0.2 stable, revision 8183 and revision 8201. MaJoR1 tested it on 4.0 and it behaved the same in all versions.
