Description
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Run Resident evil code veronica Eur version
2.If you enable "Use Panic Handlers" there is a error message "Poke Color EFB not implemented"
What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Normally , we can pass this error and go to game . We uncheck "Use Panic Handlers" and press start and we can start the game .
BUT the game has the same problem like before : All graphics are Black except characters . When using Bleach projection hack , we have texture but no text or subtitle or menu . Only black screen or nothing appear.
I have seen that some people can play normally . I think it's the US version but the Eur version doesn't work.
Dolphin version with the problem? Other Dolphin version without the
problem?
I use Rev 5870 . All rev i try are the same issues.
32-bit or 64-bit and any other build parameters?
I use 64 bits rev and try to check / uncheck , all parameters but nothing work.
OS version and versions of tools/libraries used?
I use Windows 7 bits with the Direct X plugin / Open GL plugin look like same problem.
Please provide any additional information below.

It's a Copy EFB issue, you'll need to disable Copy EFB for now to play the game.

I have try to disable EFB copy but the game have the same issues. It's an other problem.

I have try your seeting and i always have the black texture problem . I don't have blue texture. I think it's a Bug.

It is a bug, but there is a way to get around the bug and play the game by doing what I mentioned.
Did you do this:
Right click game on the GameList -> Properties -> Check Box for Disable Copy EFB?
You can leave Copy EFB enabled in the plugin configuration and just disable Copy EFB from the Game Properties for the game as I've outlined above.
I've proved that it does work, so you aren't doing something right. This is only a problem when Copy EFB is enabled.

I have done the same think like you. But i always have this bug . I don't know why.
Can it be possible that's because i use Pal version of RECV ? Because i really don't see what can i do to have graphics .
I know i can use projection hack "bleach" to have graphics but i haven't got text or menu. So for me , for now , RECV PAL is unplayable

It shouldn't matter what version you use, it's the same bug, what I mentioned should work no matter the region so all I can gander is that you aren't doing something correctly.
Don't enable XFB or Real XFB or you'll have this problem still. Disable XFB/Real XFB and disable Copy EFB then it should work fine. Your problems are that you likely have XFB enabled which won't work with this workaround.

Idon't do something wrong . I know how to use an emulator. To prove what i say look at my setting and a game's screenshot : I'm sure it's a version of the game Bug.

It should be working as it is the same exact bug, not sure why it isn't working for you.

The patch is to disable EFB copy for now, just like the issue with Dragon Roost Cavern in ZWW there is no solution for this issue yet, only a workaround.

there are missing sound effects and very beautiful save room music witch sometimes plays with xaudio2 but there are still missing the door sounds and steps and othe devices sounds effects from within the game i have tried every possible outcome from dolphin setting the game is playable but i really love this code veronica and i barely hear music loading from the game ,i use SNV R 6512 phenom x4 955 and win 7...and RECV NTSC U.frame rate between 17-30 fps and the cpu is only half full so it could deliver more FPS...

The game runs at a full 60fps with XFB enabled and set to REAL, but the black screen bug shows up for me. If I dont use XFB then it drops down to 20, no matter what graphics plugin, with the above mentioned settings. I dont believe its my computer that is the issue, as I have pretty beefy specs. (I7 4ghz, 6b ram, GTX 465)I am using Dolphin Rev 6578, Win7 X64.

Correct me if I wrong, but I think that the "disable EFB copy trick" only works with OpenGL plugin...

Disabling efb also works in the DX9 and DX11 backends/plugins, but only for the NTSC-U version of the game it seems.

Yes it works in DX9 too, don't know why yesterday I couldn't make it work..
Anyway with accurate v-beam emulation activated the game is no more stuck at 20 fps and you can reach 30 fps

Still has some issues in lastest version this one and,skies of arcadia,smash brothers brawl when you win and show the pic of the winner you'll see a green screen,resident evil 3 with sound issues,obscure 2 works but one second with sound and another without it,mortal kombat deception with some small graphics issues but the sound sounds terrible,picmin 2 gc and wii are too slow in animations,ju on japanese version does not boot,inazuma strikers does not boot either,uffff i can tell you so many bugs in games.

For Resident Evil Code Veronica X: Dolphin settings like the image you can do ..
EFB -> Copy -> [Enable] -> [RAM] -> [Enable Cache]
Custom Projection Hack -> (Settings)-> (zFar Correction -> [-0.000001])

Broken under EFB to RAM without cache, but working fine with cache - this smells a bit like Issue 5472.
Can one of you check if using EFB to RAM on the Hashless branch fixes this? You can download the current revision here: ra06e4c3e4c6c

Eh, this issue is kinda confusing. Can anyone summarize again
a) what is the issue?
b) screenshots showing the issue and showing how it's supposed to look (youtube video of the game or whatever)
c) what settings have any influence on this issue?
d) is it even still an issue?

Issue appears to happen on all regions of the game. This is an issue on all backends regardless of settings. Although at one point the DX11 plugin rendered the game correctly or partially correct. A similar issue on NullDC albeit without the black screen was related to the backbuffer/zstencil/zbuffer I believe or something like that.
Another issue is that frame rate is erratic in this game, one second it'll run at 30fps then drop to 20fps and go back up to 30fps. Timing seems to be messed up and Starfox Adventures exhibits a similar issue. Also the opening cutscene doesn't play, it just freezes on the first frame.

Yeah it seems it might be a pesky projection issue. Not sure if a projection hack will "fix" this. I believe I tried a projection hack before and there was still some issue but the black screen was gone.

I've tested the game with 3.5-599. The NA version shows background in a greenish tone with EFB copies disabled, no background otherwise. All video backends are the same. dx9 seems to be ok for emulation speed, while dx11 and opengl slow down the game.

I tried what I could to make it work. At one point I was able to toggle a setting in the DX11 backend and that would somewhat fix it. The game is currently broken for all backend. I tried testing the game in the video software backend and got a GFX Opcode Unknown error when it was about to go ingame.

Not for me NeoBrainX, with software renderer, a window error "GFX Unknow Opcode (0x3F)", and i have black screen with freeze when i start a new game.

hi all ! I managed to make the PAL version working well following your tips! with 3.5-367 revision, I used DX9 plugin and custom projection hack set -0.00001 zfar correction ! no disable EFB needed or anything else, just dx9 + custom hack, the only glitch I've seen so far is people's "blue shadow" , maybe you knew already about this but I want to thank you all for your support and this great EMU! ;)

PS: the shadows are not blue but green and I get also a sort of red triangle on the projection of those, I think in the end this is not a heavy glitch . imho now this game's emulation is almost perfect, except from the framerate, trying to improve that you could change FPS limitator from "auto" to 25 and click "limit by FPS" or raise it to 55 - 60 then you'll get better speed but also some audio glitches! hope I helped

Not a very good hack. In addition to the shadow issue, in OGL and D3D9 modes, the first scene out of the prison has screwed up background, see below.

that is not happening to me .. have a look at my video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3EkETYWWsg , the only things who are screwed up are the last piece of intro before the main menu, then when claire & steve get blocked in the "hot room" trying to take the gold lugers, and after you take the submarine in the corridor, these are caused by the distorted layer effect of water and warming, but they are minor glithces in the end you can go on looking at the map. for the rest i haven't seen any other problems yet, i'm nearly going to antartica!

for that problem, maybe you could try also to disable fog in "hacks" menu.. the game gets also a better visual graphic with it.

ah , yes this is for PAL version only, for the NTSC USA maybe there could be a working fix too, maybe with some kinda combination of settings.. but I can't test it since I don't own that version of the game ..

Ps. Eeer i ve writen the wrong hack number i m sorry .. maybe it doesn t make much difference but i missed an 0.. the number i m currently using is -0.000001 with 5 "0" and not with 4. Probably you will get the same result after all..

I noticed that sometimes it gave me the same broken textures as well.. it happened when i tried to load from a savestate instead from memory card . I don t know if you loaded the game from it, probably this comment is not helpful

Thanks for the tips. But I didn't load from a savestate. I've finished the game on ps2 so this is not a big deal to me although it'd nice to see it fixed.

no problem mate i'm glad to help . :) btw i noticed that disablig also EFB copies helped me with the textures and movies problems, but gave me the problem of the heating room and corridor under water .. and enabling them .. well VICE VERSA. :)

because directx 11 does not recognize the code "-0.000001"?
only works on DX9 or DX11 would be using different numerical combination.

This is definitely true. Got a fifo-log, it'll only render the background if EFB Copies are set to off! If you set EFB2Ram or Texture at all, you'll lose graphics even after you disable it again.

Issue is now fixed, tested ok on both OGL and D3D backends on build 596 and 592.
