Description

Game Name?

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - GZLE01
Metroid Prime - GM8E01
MVP Baseball 2004 - GVPE69

What's the problem? Describe what went wrong in few words.

Simply enough, memcard timings on all games are very, very off. This ignores the fact that the memcard timings cause issues in other games, such as the Japanese version of Wind Waker, and Gauntlet Dark Legacy on netplay (for some reason?) Those are already issues on their own; this is just focusing on save timings

Here's an example of memory card timings tested by me. This was done on saving, because reads were very fast, and I did side-by-side testing with console using a wavebird controller to verify that Dolphin was faster.

Wind Waker

Console - 1.41 - 1.55 seconds
Emulator - about .33 seconds

Metroid Prime

Console - 0.99 - 1.03 seconds
Emulator - Under .2 seconds

MVP Baseball 2004: Owner Mode

Console - 32.4 - 32.8 seconds
Emulator - 4.2 - 4.38 seconds

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Go into any game, and attempt to save. Note how long it takes, and compare it to console. In Metroid, this means beating the intro and flying to the main planet, in Wind Waker you can literally save after the first cutscene, and in MVP Baseball, just save in Owner mode or whatever it's called from the game modes menu.

Dolphin 3.5 and 3.5-367 are old versions of Dolphin that have
known issues and bugs, so don't report issues about them and test the
latest Dolphin version first.
Which versions of Dolphin did you test on?

4.0-2135, 4.0, 3.5, etc. It's never been proper.

What are your PC specifications? (including, but not limited to: Operating
System, CPU and GPU)

Core i5 3570K, GTX 760, Radeon HD5850, Windows 7 x64
